About Mommy.Adventures

Veronica has been happily married to Brent for over 7 years. Together they have two girls, Olivia, 4, Georgia, 2, and Raquel (Rocky) 10 months. As a stay-at-home mom, her life revolves around her children, friends, playgroups, and family. Prior to becoming a mom, Veronica worked in Education at a private high school in Santa Rosa, and in Marin helping low-income, and first generation high school students gain access to college.

Postcard from Boston

This week I feel like I am actually living an adventure. My adventures in mommyhood have taken my seven-month-old, Raquel, and me to visit my friend, Susan, who lives just outside Boston. I have known this friend for many years but have never really gotten the opportunity to spend time [...]

Hangoverachiever

I don’t know about you all, but I barely survived the last week. There is only so much excitement this momma can take. Between Halloween, the World Series, and the Election all happening at the same time, I just about lost my mind a couple of times. There was so [...]

Are you there God? It’s Me, Veronica

Dear God, It’s me, Veronica. First of all, let me say thank you for helping me out lately. I have been feeling so much better. I have been getting along better with my husband and my kids and I feel like I am getting into a groove with things. That [...]

Stain Fighting

I could write for days about my passion for stain fighting. I could tell you about the concoctions of stain fighters I use to wash the ink, paint, food, sauce, spit-up, dirt, and every thing else out of my children’s clothes.  Indeed, one brand of stain fighter is not enough. [...]

Decorative Scarecrows

I think it is amazing that someone like me has a Halloween Box. It’s a large Tupperware box full of lights in green, orange, and purple.  Plus, we have a giant spider light, a string of bats, and some ghosts and goblins on yard stakes that stick up in the [...]

The Girl with the Most Cake

Olivia is now four. Her party is over and I am trying to recover from all of the planning and excitement the past week has brought us. It was a lot of fun and hindsight always provides me with an education for next time. In planning for the party, I [...]

Olivia

She was born on Friday, September 29th one day after her due date. The labor was easy and not at all like I expected. I think I had watched too many movies. There was no gush of fluids, no racing to the hospital, and no screaming. Starting at 3:30 in [...]

Survivor

Today I am wearing a shirt that says, “I survived six days at home with three kids without my husband”. This week was a lesson in gratitude and the phrase, “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone”, kept popping into my head as I awaited the return of [...]

Barbies and Guns

I’m not even sure how I feel about this yet, I guess you could say I’m still processing it, but when I asked Olivia what she wanted for her upcoming 4th birthday she said “a Barbie house, a Barbie car, and Barbie”. My jaw dropped and I heard myself gasp. [...]

Who Am I?

Depending on how you look at it, sometimes my life plays like a comedy or a tragedy.  It depends on the time of day, my mood, the moods of my children, and of course many other factors such as the venue. Last night’s venue was the Phoenix Theater downtown, where [...]
